The Leo Twirlstars are a Baton Twirling club from Romford in Essex, England. We were formed on the 31st August 2007 by our troupe leader Lee Knight.
The Leo Twirlstars troupe is made up of members from 5+ up to 35 years of age. We take part in competitions, displays and carnivals if they are ready.

The girls and boys will learn all different types of moves used in Baton Twirling some of these are finger twirls, flips, rolls and wraps plus the basic twirls. Competition events we take part in are Solo twirls, Dance twirl team, Pompom team, 2 baton solo, Basic Strut, Fancy Strut and lots more. They will also use other equipment such pompoms, ribbons, hoop baton and flags. The troupe is also learning other skills such as team work, dance choreography, hand and eye co-ordination, discipline and self confidence.
We train for 2 hours per week which we are about to open another night for extra training, there is a 10 minute snack break. Members should bring a drink and a light snack to have on break.
When training members should come in their Team tracksuit which we loan out to them plus their team t-shirt also on loan, no jeans or tight trousers, Jazz pants are fine, also Jazz shoes, trainers or plimsolls are the only foot wear we allow whilst training. Hair must be tied up and out of the face.
Member’s subs are at £2.50 per week which must be paid each week even if the member is not attending, due to hire of the hall.
Each member will have a uniform – Girls a leotard and Boys – T-shirt and Trousers/shorts. Plus a military uniform for Basic and Military Strut’s.

The Leo Twirlstars aims are: -
To provide opportunities for girls and boys from 5years and up to receive in the skills involved with being a member of a majorette troupe to take part in exhibitions and events for the entertainment of other people in the community.
To help young people gain in confidence and build relationships with other young people of the same age.
By the means of (a) and (b) above to generally assist in the promotion of the welfare of the people of Romford regardless of sex, creed, colour or political beliefs.

We will also take part in many fundraisers. Fundraising is very valuable to the Troupe and important that each member participates.
